Grapes for the Napa Cellars 2011 Pinot Noir are sourced exclusively from prime vineyards in South Napa Valley, where the vines are situated in a cool region close to San Pablo Bay. The maritime influences of morning fog and the cool breeze are ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The vines in this region produce fruit with layers of complexity resulting in wines with earthy minerality and exceptional natural acidity.

Once harvested, the fruit is carefully sorted, de-stemmed and gently crushed. To enhance color and flavor, extensive seed removal occurs the delestage procedures that are incorporated during the seven day maceration period. This process helps to release the aromatic characters to create full, round tannins. After fermentation, the wine is aged in 100% French Oak Barrels for seven months.
